I have a property with chilean willows & palms they are causing quite a bit
of damage with their root systems, I want to poison them, can you recommend
anything?

With your palm cut the top off it and it will die. No growing tip no palm.

With your chilean willows wrap some copper cables around the trunk. It will
ring bark and cut into the cambium layer of the tree. The copper stops root
growth and will make it sick and it should die. Another method it to drill
shallow holes downward around the base of the tree and to fill them with
silicia dioxided (not breast implants but the dessicant type found in shoe
boxes and alike) this will stop moisture travelling up the tree. This makes
me now wonder if the silicon moisture barrier used in houses to stop rising
damp would have the same effect.

I am a gardener with chainsaw, brawn, a 4wd with chains, offsiders if
required, have a healthy disrespect for palms and reside in Dianella, so if
your trees aren't to big I could help out.

True - I'll only add to watch for any suckers from the base of the palm.

or you could pour glyphosate into the holes which should also do the trick.

Drill 3 or 4 holes about 15mm diameter and 40 mm deep at an angle down into
the trunk near the base. Fill these with diluted Roundup (sodium
glyphosate).
