EXTRA DROUGHT RELIEF OVERDUE, BEAZLEY SAYS
Federal Labor leader Kim Beazley says he hopes the Prime Minister learns a
great deal from today's tour of drought-affected areas.
John Howard has assured farmers in south-western New South Wales that they
will not be forgotten.
Mr Beazley says the Government should have used last week's Budget to
provide additional assistance for farmers, instead of cutting drought relief
by $73 million.
The Government argues it is not a cut in funding but rather an estimate of
spending for drought assistance which could rise if needed.
Mr Beazley says the Government needs to listen to farmers.
"Everybody knows that there are farmers in the eastern states who have been
suffering drought for a considerable period of time," he said.
"The time has come for some serious action from the Government, and it
wasn't evident in the Budget."
NOTE.
I am afraid such cynical attitude on the part of a Solicitor, does not
surprise me in the least. Unfortunately for thousands of farmers forced off
their farms by the DDD,. THERE IS NO SOLUTION AHEAD since Sir Turcaud is not
returning to Australia anymore!!! .... but as indicated by the stiff
reduction in the budget _ of which Mr Beazley was good enough to inform me _
it clearly appears that Howard, Gallop & their Convict-Strain Traitors
Crews could
not give two hoots about Australia being turned into a Dust Bowl soon ! ...
and Farmers continuing to die like flies in complete ruin !
PATHETIC INDEED TO THE POINT OF DESPAIR !!!
Brought to you out of great concern, and not withstanding his previous
