Bird feeder
I need to make or buy a feeder for small birds - finches - that won't
allow the bigger birds to feed from it. Any suggestions, please?
TIA

My Mum used to put feed out inside a large cocky's cage. Only the little
sparrows and finches were able to get inside and the #$*%^% Indian Mynas
and Spotted Turtledoves were stuck outside. (Yeah, I told her about the
sparrows, but hey! There's hardly any of them left these days!)

Re: Bird feeder
Plant a thicket or hedge of native plants wherever one will fit....
This will give protection for the birds, nesting sites and food sources for
the little friends

Depends on the type of plants you put in -- some native flowers (like
Grevillea 'Robyn Gordon') attract larger birds. I have a plant called Finch
Grass -- Eragrostis something. They should work!
