I am looking for Turface MVP by Profile or Shultz clay soil conditioner
by Profile in Bergen county NJ. Anyone know of a store that carries
either?

Turface is a baked clay "soil conditioner." Its primary use is
as a surface for track and field area, and baseball diamonds.
Its agricultural use is minor these days.
That said, there are several brand names that are virtually
identical. Until I moved here, I used "Mule Mix" but there are
no dealers in NC. Look for TerraGreen, also.
Farm Supply stores often carry one or more brands in 40 pound
bags. This is the cheapest way to get it. The Box Stores carry
it in 6 - 10 pound bags and the cost per grain is higher.
Profile is carried by Home Depot and Lowes. Look for "aquatic
plant soil" if you want one that is freest from fines and dust.
Shultz is carried by Wal-Mart, among others.
I did a piece for the gallery (www.internetbonsaiclub.org) not
long ago that listed several brand names. Check the "General
Discussion Forum."
