I have two 8 year old burning bushes. Last summer I had an ifestation of
spider mites which almost decimated the one, and now this spring the second
has had the birds eat all the new buds that were emerging. Well not all,
but a lot!
Does anyone know how hard I can prune them back, and will the one that had
the birds eat the buds, will it come back this year if I prune?
I am really upset over this, these bushes are a focal point in my yard and I
would really hate to lose them.

you could cut off dead now,but id wait till winter hits to cut the live
back.
