Moving lilies,advice needed.

Hi, I emptied a large pond ready to reline and have moved some lilies
and place them in another pond ,they seem to be coming along ok even
though they are old and the plant stems are bout 2 inches diameter. How
do I re introduce them, bearing in mind the pond will have no sedement
now for them to thrive, also when I placed them in the holding pond they
discoloured the water vey badly. There is no filtration on either pond,
but we will probably drain down annually and clean out. Thanks Mike

Re: Moving lilies,advice needed.

Can't you plant them in one of those plastic pond baskets? Half fill
with acquatic compost, plant the lily in the compost, then fill the
basket with gravel to keep it weighed down, then position carefully on
a flat surface in the pond. If the lilies are old like you say, you may
want to take the opportunity of dividing them first.
