been asked by my old neighbour whose moved down rd to recommend a few
evergreen shrubs for his front lawn which he plans to dig up. i've got
a few ideas, but where his house meets his new neighbours there is a
privet hedge (which i believe are known for sucking nitrogen out of
soil, so i'll get him to add lots of muck before planting)
anyway behind the privet is a large tree which means in effect planting
next to hedge will be a northerly aspect with no direct sun. soil is
acidic
if anyone could recommend some shrubs, evergeen if possible or maybe
even some perrenials that could stand this part of the garden, which i
suspect despite being in manchester will by quite dry due to large tree
and hedge taking up the moisture
cheers
