#1: John Deere SX95 Question

I am looking at a JD SX95 rear engine rider and notced that when
shifting gears there doesn't seem to be much speed difference. The
engine runs fine and everything else works. The owner said that he never
changed the belts in 6 years. Is this problem a belt issue or worse? Any
help is much appreciated.
