If you're not in Florida, you don't have that luxury. You either get what
they send you by mail order, or you get handed one in a workshop. These that I
have one of were picked for the workshop in Washington from Mary Madison's
private collection, so I don't have any beef coming. The old leaves are kind of big
at this point, and mostly on one side, but those problems are workable. The
main thing is that it survived repotting & is growing slowly. The hot summer is
fine for buttonwood & some of my other plants. A few orchids & other cool
growers are not too happy. I lost one orchid & one bonsai from the heat. The
latter was a miniature eastern hemlock, just too delicate. I have a 'Nearing'
dwarf hemlock in the ground & it is OK.
