Well, Alex is a some-time member of the IBC. It appears
that someone has "stolen" his e-mail address. He
undoubtedly will have to change it.
Meanwhile, rather than compounding the junk in the newsgroup
(AND the IBC mailing list that the NG messages go to) <as I,
unfortunately, am doing here> by responding -- WITH a
*complete* copy of the spammy message included so even we on
the mailing list can have the honor of reading it! -- you
could simply NOT respond to the group about it. :-)
AND, you could put Alex's current address on your news
program's filter list so you won't ever see anything from
that address again.
AND you could teach your spam filter (you DO have a good
spam filter, don't you?) to zap stuff from that address.
AND you could stop reading this news group and subscribe to
the e-mail list (which is the same) -- see
www.internetbonbsaiclub.org for instructions -- and have
MOST of this kind of stuff filtered there -- but not
(unfortunately) your reply.
AND you could use your ISP's spam filter to filter out his
address, too (and if you don't have an ISP that does a good
job of filtering spam, you should find one).
So there are FIVE ways (other than complaining to US) that
you could use to fix this problem rather than bothering US
with it.
