I don't know exactly what you mean, but there are some pots that have a place for water below the soil (not touching) and there is a wick between the soil and the water. This is good only for plants needing to be very wet, like african violets. It would not do for most bonsai as the proportions of the pot would be off and we mostly use bonsai soil tha we can flush if needed.
I'm sure others will hve more to say on this.

the Sept/Oct '92 issue of "Bonsai" has an article about using a wick. I
have tried it and it seems to work . If you don't have the mag, email me
