#1: [IBC] pot cleaning

Posted on 2005-08-28 23:50:15 by haberm

I've been using a wire brush followed by a light coat of baby oil to cover the white residue left on my pots by the salts in my liquid fertilizer. Some people have advised a solution of white vinegar rather than baby oil because the oil only masks the salt temporarily. Would any of you pot experts like to chime in? TU.

I use rubber gloves, Lime-Away, and one of those scouring
pads made for non-stick pots and pans or to clean the tops
of glass-top ranges. I scrub HARD after soaking the pot
rims in the Lime-Away for an hour or so. It gets _most_ of
the residue. Then I use mineral oil.
